Two scan directions (say which you need)
You scan merchant (收钱码 / table sticker)
Open WeChat Pay or Alipay → scan their code → enter or confirm the total → face / password. Oral cue: 我扫你 or simply hold the phone and say 微信.
They scan you (付款码 / show your QR)
Open your payment code → staff scans → confirm if prompted. Oral cue: 扫我的码.

一起付 vs 分开付
Many places want one payer. Say 一起付, then friends settle later. If someone pushes itemized 分开付 and staff can’t split cleanly, switch to 一起付 — same reality check as the 买单 guide; don’t rewrite the social essay here.

How do you pay with WeChat or Alipay at a Chinese restaurant?
